P Kumar Associates was set up in 1991 and has worked continuously since, never with more than five concurrent sites, and never far from the founder's own hand.
The firm sets up in Malviya Nagar with three founding-year projects. South Delhi residential is the core of the firm's work. First DLF Phase 1 work in 1992, first renovation in 1994, first Noida residence in 1999.
Architect partnerships deepen: Kaushal Sheth & Associates, Shah & Associates, and the start of D.D Roy of Design Concept in 2006. The first in-house design year was 2008.
Commercial scale-up. The Narendar Mohan Hospital (2018) is the firm's largest project to date. The Sumit Das (Metal Gothic) collaboration is the decade's main residential work, and the EDM Bridge connects two cores at East Delhi Mall.
The largest residential projects in firm history. The DLF Phase 4 villa with D.D Roy (2024) and the EROS Garden Faridabad residence (9,900 sq ft, 2020) both fall in this decade. The 2025 Malviya Nagar renovation brings the firm back to its founding neighbourhood.
Doors, windows, cabinetry, and furniture for each project are produced in our own workshop, not sub-contracted. The work that closes a room is held to the same standard as the walls that frame it.
Briefs come direct from the architect or the client. Pieces are built to the drawing and the room they go into.
Entry, internal, panelled. Sal, teak, sheesham.
Timber, fixed and operable. Glazed to brief.
Kitchens, wardrobes, built-ins.
Dining, console, side. Solid tops, drawn to the room.
Frames built in-house, upholstered to brief.
Staircases, panelling, trim. The work that closes a room.
"Every floor slab gets a visit. Every door gets shut. That's the whole brief."
No project leaves the office without the founder having walked it. Floor slabs, foundations, finishing, all reviewed in person.
We bid on what we can supervise. The portfolio grows by referral and by year, not by headcount.
We collaborate with architects across the spectrum. Briefs vary; the founder's hands-on involvement does not.
We answer enquiries personally, with no call centre and no auto-reply.
